Unable to watch some recordings

Hello all,

I am struggling to download some recordings from my vbox. I use a USB key plugged into the USB port on the back of my vbox as my recording location.

I currently have 2 recordings on my vbox.....

When I click the link for 'New: black-ish' it downloads perfectly fine however when I click the link for 'New: Shopping with Keith Lemon' I get a message saying this page isnt working.

Could it be something to do with the name? this is the URL that fails:

and this is the one that works:

http://192.168.0.101:55555/Media//New-% ... _19-30.mpg

I have noticed this with a few recordings recently.

When I navigate to the vbox in Windows Explorer I can still only access the 'New: Black-ish' recording and not the other one.

When I take the USB key out of the vbox and put it in my PC I can access both recordings, why cant I access them when it is connected to the vbox.

My vbox is model 3442 and software version is XTI_VJ.2.59.14

Does anyone have any ideas?

Open recordings.xml, is there any error word somewhere near you tv show info?

Anyway i think there is sense to contact support with all logs at the bottom of page:
System - Logging settings - Save System Logs and Configuration
radiobutton on Save Log Files and Configuration

Thanks. I emailed support a week ago but haven't heard anything yet, I will chase them up and include the logs you mentioned.

That seems to be the solution you offer to any issues I raise! I will do as you say though and see if it helps.

I have done the factory reset but still cannot access one of my recordings as per my original post. What now?

It would be a good solution for me if the USB drive plugged into the vbox was accessible using SMB as then I could get at my recordings that way, is that possible?

Come on admin@vbox, why can we not access the attached usb drive over smb? This is an issue for many people and I do not understand why you will noT share it with users. Kodi can access and manage the USB stick and its recordings so why do you not let us do the same?

Install a ssh/sftp server, in this way you will be able access external storage in "read only" mode.
