New device coming?

Post by Ant » Sun Sep 16, 2018 3:59 am

Hi.

Reading some news:
https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/ ... ex-VBox-TV

And there is some text:
In addition to the integration with Plex, VBox exposed its new Hybrid solution, the world’s first four tuner Android TV Gateway 4K ready with a network DVR and transcode, supporting DVB T2/C/S/ISDB T/ATSC.
How can we get more info about this new device?

Sounds interesting. The Plex support sounds interesting as well. Will that mean the Plex client App will work directly with VBox, or will a server be required??

New software due mid-September according to the article, so must be any day. Good find Ant, thanks for sharing.

Have Vbox given any details on how to get started with Plex? I've searched for compatible tuners but it doesn't find mine. It's only looking for the Hdhr.

Hi,

Plex is currently available with the following VBox models:
XTi 3442 DVB T2
XTi 3452 DVB C
XTi 3332 DVB S2

What you need to do:
1. Download Plex Beta version
2. Send VBox support (support@vboxcomm.com) a request to get VBox Beta version supporting Plex
3. After you have installed both, go to VBox back end, under "Streaming" go to "IPTV", check the "Enable Plex" check box and submit.
VBox will restart and you are good to go.

Regards,
VBox support team

I've got lots of questions more.
Are this one device will be ready to setup and live without tv connection?
Does it still have same features as old one (dlna and api)?

Well, we got some more info while digging the web. But there is still lots of questions.
For those who intrested, looks like first one becomes: ATSC/DVB/T/T2/C/ISDBT - Without Satellite.

Because of manufacturer silence and we respect this, more info we have found - in our telegram group.
