Higher prioritization of clients
Higher prioritization of clients
Hi
It would be great to prioritise the clients - higher vs lower !

Re: Higher prioritization of clients
What exactly you mean?
And in what case this prioritization should applied?

hi
I think, in most homes there are more than one clients/users and mostly one in main use (e.g. living room) and "only" two tuners available.
So main user/client get always a stream, when ever he wants.
Or particular for me; I record with another computer (tvheadend) - the tvheadend computer should get always the highest priority.

Re: Higher prioritization of clients
Well, it's interesting, but it should be able to set use it or not in case of recording.
I suppose it will be bad if while recording tuner switch onto another task.
Also, as example, maybe there is sense to think about more vbox devices if you have lots of watching devices.
For example, in my case our aerial have multiple plp and few multiplexes.
So to get if working in any circumstances, i need at least 3 vbox xti:
1 - dvb-t 2 multiplex with hd channels
2 - dvb-t2 2 multiplex (one with plp0 and one without)
3 - dvb-t2 1 multiplex (plp1 and plp2)
Bad part is that i need remember where and what channels i got.
Good part - any problem with unit, we can temporarily replace it.
So here we can add another device that aggregate all channels from 3 devices and send it via dlna or something.
As example such fourth device can be something xupnpd or icecast based.

Re: Higher prioritization of clients
Hi
In my case (dvb-C) I record with another computer (tvheadend-server) and the vbox device see it 'only' as a normal upnp-stream with no priority in contrast to vbox device as capture device. So if two clients are in used with different frequency the programmed recording won't start, but that is my goal.

This is exactly the case I want to preventI suppose it will be bad if while recording tuner switch onto another task.
