Boot time

Post by Ant » Sun May 14, 2017 8:35 am

Hi.

My xti-3442 3rd gen. working fine on fw 2.56.
Boot time is less then 1 minute.

For some reason (epg problems) i asked support for new fw.
I already try 2.56.3 and 2.57.

But on this fw my xti is booting about 15 or more minutes.
After this time it working again and allows me working with it.
I try reset, but nothing helps.
Looks like:
Enable power.
power red led on
after few sec lock green led on
hangs about 15 minutes
power and lock led becomes both green
works as usual

Is anybody here have same problem with boot time on fw more than 2.56?

You updated from previous fw or 2.57 was out of the box?

Made some experiments, most smallest time was about 5-7 min.

For those who meet same problem:
Boot in case my device is:
2.55 - fast
2.56 - fast
2.56.1 - long
2.56.2 - long
2.56.3 - long
2.57 - long

TIme from enabling power switch on back of device, without usb hdd^
fast (approx 1 min)
long (about 5 min)

This maybe some regression added, or something else is wrong (i see that firmware size is going more and more with version up, what if it's does matter).
For now waiting ideas from support team.

Hi @Ant,
While on 2.56 or older - Can you please try to reset your VBox to factory default (you can do it from the backup and restore menu)
Then run the update from the OTA
Please let me know if it helped?

I already tried moving from 2.55 to 2.57 via online update and it doesn't help.
Long boot appears again once update to 2.57 was done and vbox goes to reboot.

But i can try reset and update from 2.56 to 2.57 via OTA update if you want.
Will check this after few hours when i get home.

Does your R&D have any ideas whats next step we can do?
