Manual Update

Post by mattia.ciccimarra » Mon Feb 06, 2017 2:16 pm

Hi! I have a problem with the OTA upgrade.... It doesn't start....
Can I recive the file to install it manually?
Thanx

Ps. I've tried to modify ip addres in DHCP or manual connection, unlocked UPNP and DMZ from router, the time zone is working...

Did you resolve the update?

I noticed that you have two Vbxox gateway tabs open in your browser. This may be stopping the update and you should try with all other tabs closed. It may also take some time, but I am curious if it is fixed for you.

I have the same problem - no other tabs open to the server and sits for ever never updating - is there a way to download the file to do the latest update to the most current firmware

This is likely an issue with your firewall settings on your router. try placing the Vbox's ip on the DMZ and see if that resolves it? If it does the issue is firewall related. If not, then post back here and I will try and see if I can help further.

Vbox is already on dmz

(there is just one tab on the screenshot
Netgear Router / vbox / vbox guides page / vbox forum / netgear guides page / gmail / another vbox forum page)

unfortunately I still have the problem and the old firmware....

I suggest contacting VBox support directly who will assist. As the issue is not the DMZ the support team will be able to provide the best solution.

Use the form here http://vboxcomm.com/shop-support/contact-support.html

The OTA update connects with the vboxcomm.com server over http, if you are behind a proxy server of a firewall this may not work.
The latest FW version is 2.57 if you have an older version and cannot update, I suggest that you will contact us over e-mail to recieve the update file for your device

I contact the support and they send me the link of the file to upgrade the firmware. I still don't understand why the VBox can't download automatically the firmware. The connection is totally open, no proxy, no firewall, on dmz... anyway thanks to all for your attention, and thanks to vbox team for the support

I had a similar issue with mine, but statically setting the DNS to 8.8.8.8 resolved it.

Hi @emaherx it seems from the above that you have a DNS issue - this can be from 2 main reasons
1. your router didn't provide the right DNS server information to the VBox
2. Your DNS server is not up to date and doesn't include our update server name

Setting it to google's DNS server or any other DNS server should fix the issue
