Hi @tarmacalastair we have just sent you an email with the previous version - which will also restore your VBox to factory default
I hope that this will help

Thanks for the update. I will try the older version next week. It took me quite some time to set up the box last time so I need to find some time around work and family to fit this in.

Any ideas when the next release of the firmware is due? For example I logged the issue of "Enable EIT" not working in May and was told it would be fixed in the "upcoming software release" - viewtopic.php?f=11&t=80#p324.

Hi, yes from time to time it does hang. I've found that if I restart it, either via the web GUI, if it responds, or by pulling the plug if not, then it seems to work again. Sometimes I've managed to navigate to the services page and just restart the Streaming service - quicker than a restart.
Don't you have lots of recordings already while this problem occured?

Hi
Just add my name to the list I have started to see the same issues in the last week, I found a reboot effective. This could be linked to the fact I have just deleted a number of series linked recordings.

Hi,
I've also found a reboot or a restart of the streaming service to be quite effective. See viewtopic.php?f=12&t=112 for how to do it from a phone or tablet. I also now schedule a restart (via a scene within the home automation software Domoticz that runs on on my Raspberry Pi) every morning as it was just so frustrating to keep coming home after a few days away to find lots of recordings had failed.

Support have sent me a new beta (viewtopic.php?f=11&t=80&start=10) to try so I'm hoping this might be addressed in that. Just about to try it out.

Anyone know how to schedule an http or https command via a cron job?

Oh dear, I was so hopeful with this new firmware release but sadly it still hangs, meaning that all recordings fail to work until you come home a day or 2 later and log in excitedly to catch up on your recordings to find they haven't recorded! (A reboot seems to be the best fix).
I updated my firmware a couple of days ago and suspended my normal job to reboot the Vbox early in the morning so it would have a proper test without being restarted every day. Today my family and I were excited to catch up on some programmes and noticed that they hadn't been working for some hours but I have no idea when it started or why.
Same old story as before - it appears from the screenshot that it was up for 2 days before failing:
Workspace 1_216.jpg
Workspace 1_216.jpg (100.98 KiB) Viewed 347 times
Unfortunately I can't provide the information requested earlier in the thread because I can't reproduce the issue and I have no idea when it is going to fail.
I have captured the logs at the time I noticed the issue and can provide them if Support can please have a look.

So, once again the Vbox remains very much a "beta" product that is really good when it works but just not quite reliable for non-techies.

Happy Christmas! Let's hope at least some Christmas recordings work!

In case of 2.57 afaik some of users findout that problem was with recordings that have too big file name in cyrillic.
But not shure that he was contacted with support.
