Kodi Timeshift Buffer Location

I am trying to set up my Vbox on Kodi 17.1/Amazon Fire TV box
I've got most of it working, but I want to use an external microSDHC card as the timeshift buffer.
I can't see how to select this in the Timeshift buffer path.

Thanks

Hi @albacore
Timeshift buffer path is set on the VBox PVR addon

If you are looking for a way to set the buffer path outside of the Kodi environment, I have found a quick trick, press outside, with your mouse, the Timeshift buffer path window (on the Kodi background) this will allow you to set the path to your device root, network and external storage.

Many thanks for your fast reply. I did see that before, but I only have the standard Fire TV remote. I'll see if a USB mouse works.

Unfortunately I don't have remote control trick, this seems to be a generic Kodi bug as the addon is using standard Kodi path inputs

Yes, USB mouse did the trick.
Another hoop to jump through tho': it wouldn't accept any old directory on the SD card.
It has to be in android/data/org.xbmc.kodi - the usual android 5 curse on SD cards.
android/data already existed, but in some kind of catch22, I had to make the org.xbmc.kodi folder in Windows.
Life is never easy!

That's odd - thank you for sharing
Please note that timeshift is was developed to record indefinably, until you either change a channel or close Kodi.
So if you stay on the same channel for a long time you may fill your SD card

Ah! that could be a problem. I was assuming it would have a maximum time, like on most "hard" pvrs, eg 30 mins, then overwrite. Feature request please!
