Re: unable to remove some channels

You can't delete channels (annoyingly). All you can do is deselect them by unticking the box. If you then want to only see these channels you need to tick the box at the top of the page that says "Display only selected channels". Several people have asked for the option to remove channels completely...

Re: vlc from command line

Interesting. Afraid I can't help with Windows, but from my Ubuntu PC, I opened up the ChannelList.m3u file in a text editor to find out the URL for a couple of channels. Then, from a terminal I typed: vlc "http://192.168.178.80:55555/ITV" vlc "http://192.168.178.80:55555/BBC%20ONE%20HD" I had wonder...

Re: Best device for UK HD Channels

I have a Raspberry Pi 3 running OSMC (an excellent Kodi distro). This seems to work fine for watching BBC, ITV, C4 &5 HD channels live and recorded using the Vbox. You seem to have to use channel matching, which is a right pain, to get the EPG but it's better than nothing. The Pi is plugged in to an...

Re: Video cutting software for Linux

Thanks, but as you point out, Avidemux does not retain the subtitles so doesn't really answer my question!

Anyone else have any ideas please?

Video cutting software for Linux

Can anyone recommend a video editor/cutter/trimmer that simply cuts portions of my recordings from the Vbox to remove the few seconds/minutes before a programme starts and after it finishes please? It would be even better if I could cut out the adverts in my occasional programmes where adverts appea...

Re: Kodi add on improvements and a sofware one

For deleting channels completely, I've just posted my workaround to do this (a bit fiddly, but it works):

Deleting channels completely

This is only a workaround for the shortcomings in the VBox interface. Hopefully VBox will be able to add this option soon. 1. Open the Manage Files page in the VBox interface 2. Export the file ChannelList.xml.db to a PC. Make a copy of this in case your changes go wrong! 3. Download and run DB Brow...

Re: Web livetv guide loading

Yes, seen that happen lots, both on a PC browser (Firefox on Linux) and in the Android grey app. Like you though, I never seem to be able to predict when it will play up - seems to be fine at the moment. I've given up in the grey app on my phone as it's so unreliable. The pink one seems to work more...

Re: What Do you watch your Vbox on.

Pi3 with OSMC (a Kodi distro) works pretty well with recordings on NAS box. Kodi on Ubuntu pretty good too. MythTV on Ubuntu pretty good. Scheduling is much better than Vbox's but getting the EPG working is a right pain. Native Android apps seem to keep crashing but can be OK. Would love to be able ...
