Re: Plex

I am not familiar with plex, but there are two main reasons why you might want a VPN (regardless of Plex). 1) Be able to fool geo-restricted sites to think you are accessing from a country that differs from your physical one. So if you are on holiday in Spain and wanted to stream BBC iPlayer, which ...

Re: Cast recording or live tv to a device

Still not working for me :-( I have submitted a few crash reports. Looking at the stack trace it is sending you, it complains about "Scheme 'https' not registered." I presume it is still working for somebody? I am on a Nexus 5 phone with Android 6.0.1 and all recent updates... perhaps something on t...

Re: Cast recording or live tv to a device

Not convince it is an SSDP problem... the native app did appear to find the device, just crashed when trying to access it. I'll try power cycling my phone, to give it the best chance. Would you really expect the app to crash just because it can't find a device?

Re: Cast recording or live tv to a device

I can't think of anything that changed. I tried forcing the applications to stop and cleared all data. The native app got slightly further, briefly displaying the name of the vbox device, before crashing. I did send a couple of crash reports which I think you should be able to see via the google dev...

Re: Cast recording or live tv to a device

Neither android app is working for me today - both crashing when I open them, so I can't check that right now. Will do when they next want to work.

Re: Problem with GetRecordsList

I can confirm that removing the duplicates of the failed recordings brings the size of the recordings.xml file down to ~45kb (677 lines) and is now returned via GetRecordsList.

Re: TV on home network.

I had read conflicting spec sheets, and then something which explicitly said that T2 is not supported. This was one of the reasons I went with the freeview-only 3442. TBH, it might not be a major issue if you can't get freeview HD as well as freesat HD, check the channel coverage for HD channels on ...

Cast recording or live tv to a device

I would like to be able to select a channel or recording from an android app and 'cast' it to a chromecast or DLNA renderer.

Ideally the same app would allow searching the guide for programs to record and also management of the recordings.

Re: Better Over the air EPG support

I was not keen on resetting the box so had another go at pairing. Perhaps I wasn't paying attention before but a lot of the HD channels had been paired with themselves. I think the reason for this was that in some cases I couldn't find the SD version of the channel, which turned out to be because I ...

Re: Problem with GetRecordsList

Just been looking around this and might have found something related. Something doesn't look quite right with the recordings.xml file when I look at it directly (rather than through the vbox api). There are *loads* of failed recordings... 6825 to be precise... out of 6842 recordings in total. There ...
